• There are two species of elephants, the African and the Asian. There are four subspecies of
       Asian elephants, the Indian, Ceylon, Sumatran and Malaysian elephants.
• Asian elephants can live up to 60 years while African elephants can live up to 70 years.
• Weighing in at about 4 tons, Asian elephants are slightly smaller then their African
       cousins, who can weigh up to 6 tons!
• Aside from their weight difference, another way to tell African and Asian elephants apart is ear
       size. African elephants have very large ears which they use like fans to cool down their bodies.
